This was on a side street high above Valparaiso. I was struck by all the wires that crisscrossed the sky, cutting up the view. After painting this, I went to a local restaurant where the server assumed I knew how to speak Spanish.
About Craig Macnaughton
Toronto-based artist, graphic designer and filmmaker Craig Macnaughton uses watercolour and pen and ink to examine both the distant landscape and the human form. Great capture! I was blown away by their cable work in just about every town I visited in Chile - every power pole had a complete rat's nest of cables coming and going all colored in basic black. I have NO idea how anyone traces an outage or prevents unauthorized tampering.
