Artist's Description
This temple is down the river from where they shot "Bridge on the River Kwai" (1957) and the guesthouse I stayed in had a nice view of that bridge. I rented a bike and rode down the river, and stumbled upon this crazy dragon winding it's way down the hill! It turns out it was the staircase to this temple, so I climbed up, found some shade and did this painting.
About Craig Macnaughton
Toronto-based artist, graphic designer and filmmaker Craig Macnaughton uses watercolour and pen and ink to examine both the distant landscape and the human form.
